FAQs

How do I get started?

After you contact me, I will provide you with a free 15 minute consultation to determine what your needs are and make sure I am the right fit for you.  After that, we will schedule your first intake appointment.

How long does therapy take?

Therapy sessions are most often 50 minutes. However, flexibility is sometimes needed (for example, with young children), so in some cases sessions can be 30 or 45 minutes. The number of therapy sessions depends on each client, symptoms, and goals. At the beginning of therapy, it is recommended you come in weekly.  Sessions may be spread out as symptoms improve.  A short course of treatment may be 8-12 sessions but some clients prefer ongoing care at various frequencies.

Do you accept insurance?

Do you see clients in person or telehealth?

I am currently offering both in person or telehealth for counseling.

What are your hours?

For therapy, I am available for in person or telehealth sessions Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm.  At this time, I do not have any evening appointments available.

What are your rates?

Therapy sessions are $235 each if you are paying out of pocket. I will provide a free brief consultation to determine if I am a good fit.  Sessions that are not canceled 24 hours in advance will be charged the full amount.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. Sessions will remain confidential and your information will not be disclosed without your written consent, with the exception of cases of possible harm to yourself or others (especially children or elderly) or a criminal court subpoena.
Trust and rapport are especially important in the counseling process. I understand the importance of having a safe and calm environment to explore self-improvement.

I accept Aetna insurance.  Otherwise, I am an out-of-network provider.  If you PPO insurance, I am able to provide a "Superbill" for services, which is like a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance and you may be able to be reimbursed. Please contact your insurance provider or your HSA/FSA providers to find out if they will be able to reimburse you for services.
